Syracuse, N.Y. – Le Moyne College head women's soccer coach Carrie Bonus welcomed the newest addition to the team, Madison Showens, on Tuesday afternoon.

An 11-year old from Liverpool, Madison Showens is involved with Team IMPACT, a non-profit program that matches up children facing life-threatening illnesses. Core to their model is harnessing the power of teamwork by matching these courageous kids with college athletic teams. Team IMPACT children are drafted onto local college athletic teams and, to the greatest extent possible, become an official member of the team for the duration of their treatment and beyond.

Madison is the sixth child to join a Le Moyne team. Men's basketball, men's soccer, women's lacrosse and the men's and women's swimming and diving teams previously had Team IMPACT children join their team.
