Syracuse, N.Y. – Le Moyne College has been awarded the Presidents' Award for Academic Excellence from the NCAA, as announced by the association on Wednesday afternoon.
The honor is awarded to Division II institutions that have achieved an Academic Success Rate of 90-percent or higher. This year, 43 member schools earned the honor.
The Division II ASR includes transfers into a school in the calculation and removes transfers out who left school while academically eligible. The ASR also includes the more than 31,000 non-scholarship student-athletes who were enrolled in the four years covered in the most recent data. For the student-athletes who enrolled from 2011 through 2014, the four years covered in the most recent data, Le Moyne posted an ASR of 96%, tied for the sixth-best mark in Division II and the best in the College's history, topping the previous-best mark (from last year) by five points. Amongst NE10 institutions, Le Moyne is third behind Bentley University and Saint Michael's College, which are tied for first in the country at 99%. Le Moyne's increase of five points was the highest in the NE10. The national ASR for the 2011 through 2014 cohort is 76%, an increase of two points from last year.
