Houghton, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's indoor track and field team set two program records and the men's team broke one on Saturday at Houghton College's Highlander Invitational at the Kerr-Pegula Field House.
"I was very pleased with how our last minute change of venues worked out," said head coach
Robin Wheeless. "We were able to break both the men's and women's school record in the 60-meter dash. Actually, Mallory (DiFelice) broke the record in the trials and was even faster in the finals.
Madison Kozyra is currently ranked first in the conference in the shot put and with today's record throw she moves into fourth for the weight throw. For several athletes this was their first race of the season. We just need to keep putting in the work and good things will keep happening."
Redshirt freshman
Madison Kozyra (Marcy, N.Y./Whitesboro) registered a program-record distance of 44-feet, 0-inches on her third attempt to place second in the weight throw. She won the shot put with a mark of 36-feet, 11.75-inches on her fifth throw.

Mallory DiFelice (Webster, N.Y./Webster Schroeder) placed first in the 4x400-meter relay in 4:26.78.
DiFelice recorded a pair of individual top-six finishes, including a program record, for the second straight week. She opened the day by breaking her own program record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.07 seconds to record the top time in the preliminaries. She then sped to another new program record in the event by crossing the finish line in the finals in 8.04 seconds to place second. In the 200-meter dash, she placed sixth in a career-best 27.64 seconds.
Baker recorded a time of 1:04.12 to place fourth in the 400-meter dash.
Szczech placed fourth in the pole vault by clearing the bar at 9-feet, 0.25-inches.
Freshman
Brianne Rett (Uxbridge, Mass./Marianapolis Preparatory (Conn.)) finished in fourth place in the weight throw with a distance of 36-feet, 4-inches.
Kitterman finished fifth in the 60-meter hurdles in a career-best 10.12 seconds.
Lavello placed sixth in the 60-meter dash in 8.31 seconds.
Smith registered a pair of individual seventh-place finishes on the day. She recorded a time of 8.54 seconds in the 60-meter dash and 10.19 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles.
Senior
Samantha Pellegrini (Loudonville, N.Y./Colonie Central) tallied a seventh-place finish in the 3000-meter run in 11:20.33.
Redshirt freshman
Ashley Dobransky (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) placed eighth in the shot put with a mark of 31-feet, 8.5-inches.

Abbott broke his own program record by speeding to a time of 7.18 seconds in the 60-meter dash to place second.

Matthew Sinnenberg (Burnt Hills, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) placed second in the 5000-meter run with a time of 16:54.11.

Max Serling (Rochester, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon) finished third in the 5000-meter run in 17:23.08.
Carlin-Saracene turned in a time of 2:04.24 to place fourth in the 800-meter run.
Scott placed fifth in the 400-meter dash in 53.14 seconds.
Barrett finished fifth in the 800-meter run in 2:04.64.
Junior
Nicholas Hafner (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) recorded a time of 9.30 seconds to place sixth in the 60-meter hurdles.
The Dolphins are back in action on Saturday at Utica College's Blue & Orange Invite.
