WOMEN’S GOLF PLACES FOURTH AT KUTZTOWN FALL INVITATIONAL

Fleetwood, Pa. – Sophomore Mia Avotins (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) placed fourth to lead the Le Moyne College women's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the Kutztown Fall Invitational on Sunday and Monday at the par-70, 5660-yard Moselem Springs Golf Club.

Alvernia won the team championship with a 663 after rounds of 328 and 335. Millersville University was second with a 681 following scores of 344 and 337, while the host Bears placed third with a 706 off back-to-back rounds of 353. The Dolphins totaled a 715 to place fourth after rounds of 354 and 361. Alvernia's McKylie Boreman earned medalist honors with a 153 following rounds of 76 and 77.

Avotins earned her fourth straight top-seven finish with a 163. She recorded a 78 in the first round to land in second place and then posted an 85 in the second round.

Freshman Thais Forbes (Atlanta, Ga./Coral Gables (Fla.)) finished 11th with a 175 off rounds of 86 and 89, while classmate Emily Barnes (Central Square, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) finished in a three-way tie for 22nd with a career-best 187 after tallying scores of 94 and a career-best 93. Senior Elyse Maniccia (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) registered a 191 off rounds of 97 and 94 to place in a four-way tie for 28th. Freshman Riley Stuver (Webster, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) placed 32nd with back-to-back rounds of 96 to finish at 192.

The Dolphins are back in action on Friday and Saturday at The College of Saint Rose Fall Invitational at Pinehaven Country Club in Guilderland, N.Y.
