Lewisburg, Pa. – The Le Moyne College women's golf team is in 16th place following the first round of the Bucknell University Fall Invitational on Friday afternoon at the par-70, 5939-yard Bucknell Golf Club to open the year.
The host Bison are in first place after the opening 18 holes with a score of 297. Holy Cross is five shots back in second place and Merrimack College is another shot back in third. Purdue Fort Wayne and Saint Francis are another shot back in a tie for fourth. The Dolphins totaled a 333 to land in 16th place in the 19-team field. Bucknell's Katherine Vice and Duquesne's Katie Fodale are tied for first place at two-over par 72.
Junior
Gianna Cafarella (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Preparatory School) is in an 11-way tie for 41st place to lead the Dolphins with an 80, which featured one birdie and seven pars. Freshman
Caroline McShea (Old Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) carded an 83 in her collegiate debut, which included one birdie and five pars, to land in a six-way for 63rd place. Senior
Riley Stuver (Webster, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) and sophomore
Lauren Williams (San Francisco, Calif./University HS) are part of an eight-way tie for 74th place with 85s, while Stuver had eight pars and Williams had five. Sophomore
Olivia Dahn (Bristol, Conn./St. Paul Catholic) is in a five-way tie for 93rd place following a 90, which included four pars.
The second round gets underway on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. with the Dolphins starting on the 10th hole at 9:16 a.m.
