Cortland, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's and women's indoor track and field teams set three program records at SUNY Cortland's Cortland Classic on Friday and Saturday at the Stadium Complex.
"This weekend we finally had some beautiful weather and the sprinters especially liked running in the sunshine," said head coach
Robin Wheeless. "With two weeks to go in our season, our team had quite a few personal bests.
Kenny Barrett missed the school record by less than half a second in the 800.
Camryn Cortez ran a huge personal best in the 10K, taking more than 3.5 minutes off her time.
Brianne Rett improved on the discus by almost four meters to finish third."
"We also set some team records this weekend. On Friday,
Natalie Lavello tied the record for the 100-meter dash. On Saturday, both Natalie and
Mallory DiFelice crushed that record with Natalie edging out Mallory to set the new record.
Dominic Abbott set the new school record for the 200-meter dash and on Friday night under the lights the men's 4x4 team of
Brandon Scott,
Christian Carlin-Saracene,
Dominic Abbott and
Kenny Barrett took that record for their own. The next couple of weeks are about sharpening and recovery. We should be ready for more records by then."
