MANUEL RIGHI NAMED LE MOYNE COLLEGE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK, PRESENTED BY CADIMENSIONS, INC.

Syracuse, N.Y. – Men's tennis graduate student Manuel Righi (Bologna, Italy/IPC Manfredi – ITC Tanari/Concordia (N.Y.)/Universita di Bologna) has been named the Le Moyne College Athlete of the Week, Presented by CADimensions, Inc.

Righi went 4-0 during a week in which the 'Phins claimed two NE10 match victories.

The Dolphins took down Adelphi University, 7-0, on Wednesday, then they bested #52 Southern New Hampshire University on Friday by a score of 6-1.

On Wednesday against the Panthers, Righi and his doubles partner, Peter Hatton (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt/Club Med Academics/Army West Point) won their #2 doubles match 6-1, then Righi claimed a 6-2, 6-1 win during his second position singles match.

On Friday against the Penmen, Righi and Hatton earned another 6-1 win during their second position doubles match, and Righi bested his opponent in the number two singles match by a score of 6-1, 6-4.

The duo of Righi and Hatton are 17-1 in doubles matches on the season, and a perfect 7-0 in Northeast-10 doubles matches.

Righi is an undefeated 15-0 in singles matches this season. He is 5-0 in Northeast-10 Conference number two singles matches, and he won a first position conference singles match against Bentley.

The Le Moyne College men's tennis team finished their regular season with a 19-1 record and a #38 national ranking. The Dolphins finished atop the Northeast-10 Conference men's tennis standings and earned the #1 seed in the Conference Championships. They will meet the winner of #4 Saint Michael's and #5 Franklin Pierce in the semifinals on Thursday, April 28.
