Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College Play of the Week, presented by McNeil & Co., occurred during the women's lacrosse team's 16-6 win over #25 Roberts Wesleyan University on Wednesday.
With just under five minutes remaining in the third quarter of the non-conference contest at Ted Grant Field, the Dolphins had possession with a 13-5 lead.
Graduate attacker
Sara Goodwin (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker/Virginia Tech) threw a pass from the right side of Le Moyne's offensive end to a cutting
Katelyn Karleski (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Onondaga C.C.) in front of the RWU net, but Redhawk goalkeeper Shawna Lesmerises blocked the shot and sent the ball flying behind the net.
Le Moyne senior attacker
Gemma Addonizio (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) picked up the ground ball, evaded a defender, cut towards the middle slightly, then fired a shot behind her head that flew into the upper left corner of the net to extend Le Moyne's lead to 14-5.

Jessica Meneilly (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) and
Sarah Hutchings (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) each scored three goals against the Redhawks, while Goodwin tallied a team-best four goals on Wednesday.
The Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team, who are currently ranked fifth in the national top 25 poll, will be back in action on Wednesday when they battle Daemen University on Ted Grant Field at 3:30 p.m.
