Quarryville, Pa. – Sophomore
Mia Avotins (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) earned her third straight medalist honors to lead the Le Moyne College women's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the Millersville Invitational on Saturday at the par-72, 5834-yard Tanglewood Manor Golf Club.
Millersville won the team competition with a score of 344. West Chester University was four shots back in second place and Thomas Jefferson University was another four shots back in third. The Dolphins tallied a 354 for their fourth-place finish.
Avotins earned medalist honors for the third straight tournament by two shots with an 80. It marks her 12th round (of 18) with a score of 80 or better. Her scoring average of 79.28 for the year eclipses Bianca Cruz-Hernandez's mark of 79.56 as the best in a season in the program's history.
Freshman
Thais Forbes (Atlanta, Ga./Coral Gables (Fla.)) tied for sixth place with an 83. She closes the year with a scoring average of 84.78, the fifth-best by a freshman in the program's history.
Graduate student
Meghan McKeen (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) closed out her 62-round career by finishing in a four-way tie for 30th place with a 94. Her 62 career rounds are tied for the seventh-most in the program's history, while her 89.63 scoring average is the seventh-best.
Freshman
Emily Barnes (Central Square, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) tied for 35th with a score of 97, while classmate
Riley Stuver (Webster, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) posted a 100 to land in a four-way tie for 37th.
Senior
Elyse Maniccia (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego), who played as an individual, recorded a 93 in her final collegiate round to finish in a four-way tie for 26th.
The Dolphins finished the season with a scoring average of 345.72, the fifth-best mark in the program's history.
