MEN’S SOCCER TO OPEN DIVISION I ERA AT PENN STATE

Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's soccer team will open its NCAA Division I era at Penn State University on Sunday, August 27.

The Dolphins return 14 letterwinners, including seven who started at least 10 games, from last year's squad, which went 7-6-6, including 3-4-4 in Northeast-10 Conference action. The Dolphins were the seventh seed in the NE10 Championship and went on to upset second-seeded Southern Connecticut State in the first round and advance past sixth-seeded Adelphi in penalty kicks in the semifinals before falling to eventual national champion Franklin Pierce in the conference title game. The Dolphins return four of their top six scorers from last year, including leading scorer Cameron Stuart, who posted 16 points on six goals and four assists.

The Nittany Lions went 6-6-4 overall in 2022 and posted a mark of 3-2-3 in Big Ten competition. They earned the fifth seed in the Big Ten tournament, but fell to fourth-seeded and eventual national runner-up Indiana in the quarterfinals. The Nittany Lions return 18 letterwinners, including their top three leading scorers and their starting goalkeeper. In his first year as an assistant coach with the Nittany Lions is former Dolphin All-America defender Sean Lawler '11.
