Owen Corby (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) has been named the Northeast Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.
Corby earns the honor after registering a 70.8 scoring average over five rounds at two invitationals. He opened the week by finishing in fourth place among 75 competitors at Columbia University's Roar-EE Invitational on Saturday by recording a four-under par 140 following rounds of three-under par 69 and one-under par 71. He then fired a one-over par 214 off rounds of one-under par 70, one-over 72 and another 72 to place ninth and lead the Dolphins to a third-place finish at Villanova University's Wildcat Spring Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.
Through 24 rounds in his first collegiate year, Corby has a 74.3 scoring average, the second-best on the team. He has four rounds at or under par, including his season-best 69 at Columbia on Saturday. He has a pair of top-five finishes and three top-10 placements at 10 events.
Le Moyne returns to the links on Friday, April 26 at the Callaway Resort & Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia for the first day of the three-day Northeast Conference Championships.
