Bridgewater, N.J. – Freshman infielder Mike Whelehan has been named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week for week eight of the baseball season due to his play during Le Moyne's series against Stonehill.

During game two of the series, Whelehan recorded a season-high three hits in four at bats with two runs scored and two RBI to help lead the Dolphins to a 6-5 win, then he contributed two hits and three RBI in the series finale, which resulted in a 9-3 win for the 'Phins. Whelehan is the first Dolphin to win an NEC Rookie of the Week award.

The Le Moyne baseball team will return to action on Tuesday at Binghamton.
