Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's soccer team will make the short trip across town on Monday for a matchup with No. 7 Syracuse University.

The Labor Day match, which marks the first-ever regular season meeting between the two programs, is set to kick off at 7 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium, and will air on ACC Network Extra.

The Dolphins will enter the match with a 1-1 record, having recorded a 3-2 win over Canisius in their opener, followed by a 1-0 loss at Binghamton on August 25.

Freshmen Giuliano Michitti and Rhys Allport, along with senior Brady McNulty each scored their first career goals against Canisius, with redshirt-freshman Vito Kreuzpaintner and junior Cameron Stuart both providing an assist.

Sophomore goalkeeper Wyatt Dupell recorded three saves in both of Le Moyne's matches.

Scouting the Orange:
Syracuse, which added 22 newcomers to the squad this offseason, was ranked No. 25 in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll, but jumped up to No. 7 after shutout wins against Colgate and Niagara in the first week. The Orange most recently battled to a 2-2 draw against Charlotte at home on Thursday.

Junior striker Nicholas Kaloukian, who led the Orange in points during the 2023 season with six goals and three assists in 21 starts, has tallied two goals so far this season on 10 shots. Freshman defender Chimere Omeze has also put away two goals for Syracuse, including the game winner in a 1-0 victory at Colgate in his collegiate debut. Junior forward Michael Acquah has provided a team-best two assists so far for the Orange. Senior goalkeeper Tomas Hut has played every minute through Syracuse's first three games. He made a season-high four saves to keep a clean sheet at Colgate, then recorded one save against Niagara and two against Charlotte.

Syracuse returned nine players from its 2023 team that compiled a 9-5-7 record and earned a win over Boston University in the first round of the NCAA Championship.

Four players on the current Orange roster were members of the 2022 Syracuse squad that went 19-2-4 and won the ACC Atlantic Division regular season title, the ACC Tournament Championship, and the program's first NCAA National Championship.

The Orange are led by head coach Ian McIntyre, who is in his 15th season at the helm of the program.
