Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's basketball team will take on Northeast Conference rival FDU as they celebrate Military Appreciation Night at home on Friday, Jan. 12 at 7:00 p.m.

Series History:
Le Moyne is 2-1 all-time against FDU with all three matchups taking place last season, the Dolphins' first as a member of the Northeast Conference. The programs' first matchup on Jan. 6, 2024 marked Le Moyne's first NEC victory as they took down the Knights, 74-63, on the road behind 2024 graduate guard Kaiyan Cleary's 23 points and an additional 10 points each from current 'Phins junior guard Trent Mosquera and sophomore guard AJ Dancler.

FDU came out on top, 68-58, in their second regular season matchup of the year on Feb. 24 in Syracuse before Le Moyne eliminated the Knights in the quarterfinals of the conference playoffs, 82-61, at home on Mar. 6. 2024. Graduate forward Luke Sutherland (22 points) and current fifth-year guard Darrick Jones Jr (17) led the Dolphins in points in what was the program's first NEC playoff appearance.

Common Opponents:
Aside from NEC rivals, Le Moyne and FDU both played against Manhattan and Army West Point in non-conference games earlier this season.

Both the Dolphins and Knights downed Manhattan in November, with FDU winning 85-82 on Nov. 17 and Le Moyne coming away with a 81-77 victory on Nov. 29.

The two programs then went on to both falter against Army, with FDU falling, 84-70, on Nov. 20 and Le Moyne dropping its matchup, 103-100, in triple-overtime on Dec. 3.

Dolphins' Season:
Le Moyne concluded the non-conference portion of their season on a two-game losing streak after falling to Notre Dame, 91-62, on Dec. 22 and Niagara, 88-69, on Dec. 29. The team entered their 2024-25 NEC slate last Friday, Jan. 3 with a 5-10 record before falling to LIU, 78-62, at the Barclays Center in their most recent matchup.

Senior forward Ocypher Owens tallied multiple team-highs in the Dolphins' loss to the Sharks, recording 19 points on 7-8 shooting from the field, 12 rebounds, and five blocks in 40 minutes of action. Owens leads Le Moyne in points per game (12.4), rebounds per game (8.6), and minutes per game (33.1) through nine appearances this season.

Graduate guard Robby Carmody rounded out the double-digit scorers against LIU, totaling 16 points on 5-9 shooting while adding one assist. Carmody is currently second on the team in points per game with 11.9 and first in free-throw percentage, draining over 87% of his attempts from the charity stripe over 11 games.

The Dolphins' final three starters, Dancler, Jones, and junior forward Dwayne Koroma, combined for 19 points against LIU in the loss on Friday.

Le Moyne is second to only FDU in the NEC in scoring offense, as they have registered 74.4 points per game this season. The squad also ranks in the top-half of the conference in field goal percentage (.448), free-throw percentage (.716), and assists (15.0 per game) through 16 team games.

A Look at the Knights:
FDU similarly ended their non-conference schedule on a losing streak, falling to Villanova, La Salle, Minnesota, and most recently Boston College in consecutive matchups from Dec. 11 through Dec. 28. Overall, the squad went 4-11 over the first two months of the 2024-25 season.

FDU turned their luck around this past Sunday, Jan. 5 as they traveled to Staten Island, N.Y. and dealt Wagner a 71-59 loss in their first conference game of the year.

In the win over Wagner, sophomore guard Terrence Brown led the charge for FDU with a career-high 28 points on 11 made shots, 10 rebounds, and a pair of both blocks and steals. He currently leads the entire Northeast Conference in points per game with 21.6 in the second most minutes (33.5 through 16 games). Brown also leads FDU in rebounds per game (6.1), assists (51), and steals (32) while sitting second with 10 blocks this season.

Graduate forward Bismark Nsiah tallied 11 points and was one assist away from a triple-double against Wagner, as he recorded team-highs with 12 blocks and nine assists. He is averaging 8.2 points, leads FDU in blocks with 14 and is second on the team in field goal percentage (.486), rebounds per game (5.1), and assists (36) while appearing in all 16 team games.
