Rochester, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's and women's swimming and diving teams traveled to take on Roberts Wesleyan in a pair of dual meets on Saturday afternoon. Both teams came out on top with the men's team taking down the Redhawks, 205-89, and the women's squad winning, 228-68. The two teams combined to set 10 pool records during the meet, as well.
"We had a challenging week of training and came into the meet sore and tired. That didn't hold us back," said head coach Adam Zaczkowski '04.
"The meet started out fast with victories in the medley relay and 1650. Both Shea Gillespie and Sydney Stalbaum were faster than pool records.
"I was impressed with everyone's effort. Some additional highlights include Ryann Ellefsen's 400 IM, Brooke Sommo's 50 and 100 backstrokes and 50 freestyle lead-off in the 200 freestyle relay."
"We had numerous season best swims and Maddie O'Dea had a lifetime best in the 100 butterfly."
As for the men's team, "the meet started out with a sweep in the one and three-meter dives by Adam Kaszovitz," added Zaczkowski.
"We had commanding victories in the relays, and most of the individual events. Mikey White had good swims in the 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly while Owen Daniels swept the backstrokes and Neil Adamski was very good in the breaststrokes."
"We will train hard this week as we end our fall dual meet season vs Colgate at the Ryan Pool on Friday night."
