Cleveland O.H. – The Le Moyne College men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed in day one of the mid-season Magnus Cup Invitational hosted by Cleveland State University on Thursday afternoon. The men's team ended with 134 points, placing them in sixth, while the women's squad earned 38 points as they sit in eighth place after the first day of competition.
Women's Squad:
Junior Madeleine O'Dea (Milton, O.N. / Milton District) placed 17th in the 50-yard breaststroke, coming in at the 30.11 mark.
The 400-yard medley relay team consisting of freshman Selena Snow (Ijamsville, Md. / Oakdale), O'Dea, senior Brooke Sommo (Guilderland, N.Y. / Guilderland), and junior Kayleigh Bigwarfe (Glenmont, N.Y. / Bethlehem) took 19th place with a final time of 3:57.45.
Men's Team:
Sophomore Lucas Clay (Baldwinsville, N.Y. / C.W. Baker) earned third place in the 50-yard breaststroke, coming in with a final time of 24.94.
Freshman Owen Daniels (Rhinebeck, N.Y. / Redhook) claimed ninth place in the 50-yard backstroke, finishing at the 23.52 mark.
The 400-yard medley relay team of Daniels, Clay, sophomore Alexander Pilieci (Ottawa, O.N. / John McCrae), and sophomore Michael White Jr. (Baldwinsville, N.Y. / C.W. Baker) finished with a final time of 3:20.01, placing them ninth.
What's Next:
The Dolphins will compete in day two of the Magnus Cup tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 21 with prelims set to begin at 9:00 a.m.
