MUMMERY AND CLAY SET SCHOOL RECORDS AS MEN'S AND WOMEN'S SWIM & DIVE TEAMS ROUND OUT DAY TWO OF THE MAGNUS CUP

Cleveland O.H. – The Le Moyne College men's and women's swimming and diving teams continued their mid-season invitational meet, the Magnus Cup, hosted by Cleveland State University on Friday afternoon. The men's team finished the day with 360 points, placing them in fifth of six teams ahead of John Carroll (326). The women's squad has totaled 80 points over two days and rank ninth overall.

Women's Squad:
Junior Madeleine O'Dea (Milton, O.N. / Milton District) placed 19th in the 100-yard breaststroke, coming in at the 1:05.73 mark.

The 800-yard freestyle relay team consisting of freshman Shea Gillespie (Oro Medonte, O.N. / St. Joseph's), senior Sophia Stinnett (Hillsborough, N.C. / Cedar Ridge), senior Brooke Sommo (Guilderland, N.Y. / Guilderland), and junior Kayleigh Bigwarfe (Glenmont, N.Y. / Bethlehem) earned 15th place in the event with a final time of 7:57.38.

The team of freshman Ella Twomey (Melrose, Mass. / Landmark), sophomore Kaiya Fraley (Watervliet N.Y. / Shaker), sophomore Shannon Swezey (Bayport, N.Y. / Bayport-Blue Point), and junior Victoria Hewitt (Fulshear, T.X. / Jordan) followed just behind, coming in with a final time of 8:09.72 to earn them an 16th place finish.

Men's Team:
The 200-yard medley relay team of freshman Owen Daniels (Rhinebeck, N.Y. / Redhook), sophomore Lucas Clay (Baldwinsville, N.Y. / C.W. Baker), sophomore Alexander Pilieci (Ottawa, O.N. / John McCrae), and junior Justin Enser (Hilton, N.Y. / Hilton) earned 10th in the event with a final time of 1:31.20.

Pilieci took ninth place in the 100-yard butterfly event, coming in at the 49.32 mark in the finals.

Freshman John Mummery (New Windsor, N.Y. / Newburgh) set a new school record while coming in 15th place in the 200-yard freestyle event with a final time of 1:40.66.

Clay finished at the 54.38 mark in the 100-yard breaststroke, coming in fourth in the event while breaking a school record that he set previously during the prelims earlier in the day. 

The 800-yard freestyle relay team of Mummery, sophomore Michael White Jr. (Baldwinsville, N.Y. / C.W. Baker), Clay, and sophomore Jack Milligan (East Islip, N.Y. / East Islip) finished in seventh with a final time of 6:50.47

What's Next:
The Dolphins will finish out the Magnus Cup tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 22 with prelims set to begin at 9:00 a.m.
