MEN'S AND WOMEN'S SWIM & DIVE TEAMS CLOSE OUT MAGNUS CUP ON SATURDAY

Cleveland O.H. – The Le Moyne College men's and women's swimming and diving teams rounded out the third and final day of their mid-season invitational meet, the Magnus Cup, hosted by Cleveland State University on Saturday. The men's team finished the invite with 526 points, placing them in fifth of six teams ahead of John Carroll (475). The women's squad took eighth place with a score of 134 points, to also edge out John Carroll (107).

Women's Squad:
Freshman Katelin Fawcett (Littleon, Colo. / Thunderridge) earned 20th place in the 100-yard IM, coming in at the 1:01.38 mark.

Junior Madeleine O'Dea (Milton, O.N. / Milton District) placed 20th in the 200-yard breaststroke with a final time of 2:27.68.

The 400-yard freestyle relay team consisting of senior Brooke Sommo (Guilderland, N.Y. / Guilderland), sophomore Kaiya Fraley (Watervliet N.Y. / Shaker), freshman Sophia Stinnett (Hillsborough, N.C. / Cedar Ridge), and junior Kayleigh Bigwarfe (Glenmont, N.Y. / Bethlehem) took 19th place in the event, coming in at the 3:38.56 mark.

The diving relay team consisting of sophomore Gabby Williams (Scotia, N.Y. / Scotia-Glenville), sophomore Alyssa Kearns (Latham, N.Y. / Shaker), and freshman Ryann Ellefsen (Staten Island, N.Y. / Notre Dame Academy) took eighth place, finishing with a school-record final score of 150.45.

Men's Team:
Sophomore Lucas Clay (Baldwinsville, N.Y. / C.W. Baker) placed fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke, setting a new school record with a final time of 2:00.81. He also earned 11th place in the 50-yard butterfly, coming in with a final time of 22.49.

Freshman Owen Daniels (Rhinebeck, N.Y. / Redhook) earned seventh place in the 200-yard backstroke with a final time of 1:50.72.

Sophomore Alexander Pilieci (Ottawa, O.N. / John McCrae) competed in the 200-yard butterfly, taking eighth place with a final time of 1:50.82.

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Clay, sophomore Michael White Jr. (Baldwinsville, N.Y. / C.W. Baker), junior Justin Enser (Hilton, N.Y. / Hilton), and sophomore Jack Milligan (East Islip, N.Y. / East Islip) earned 10th place in the event with a final time of 3:05.81.

The diving relay team of sophomore Louis Allison (Queensbury, N.Y. / Queensbury), junior Adam Kaszovitz (Hicksville, N.Y. / Hicksville), and freshman Neil Adamski (Manlius, N.Y. / Fayetteville-Manlius) set a new school record in the event, finishing with a final score of 177.75 points to earn third place.

What's Next:
Through the next month, Lucas Clay will compete at the USA Swimming Toyota U.S. Open Championships in the 100-breaststroke event in Austin, T.X. from Dec. 3-8 while those who qualified will compete at the CSCAA Open Water National Championships in Ocala, Fla. on Dec. 13.

The Dolphins will compete as a team next in Brooklyn, N.Y. as they take on LIU on Saturday, Jan. 17.
