Emmet McDermott (Pleasantville, N.Y./Pleasantville) have been named captains of the 2026 Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team, head coach
Dan Sheehan announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Berry, an attackman, has appeared in all 26 of the team's games over the last two seasons, while making 18 starts. A starter in all 15 games last year, he registered a team-high 31 points on 20 goals and 11 assists, while adding 11 ground balls. He scored multiple goals in seven games, including a career-best three goals in three contests, while dishing out multiple assists in three games, including a career-high four at Mercyhurst. For his career, he has 38 points on 26 goals and 12 assists.
Chason, a long-stick midfielder, has made 24 appearances over his three seasons as a Dolphin. A member of the NEC's top defense and the nation's fourth-ranked defense, he recorded eight caught turnovers and eight ground balls over 15 games last year.
DeMeo, a short-stick defensive midfielder, has appeared in 24 of 26 games over his two seasons on the Heights. A member of the short-stick d-middie rotation, he tallied 22 ground balls and caused three turnovers, while adding an assist, over 15 games as a sophomore. For his career, he has 31 ground balls and five caused turnovers.
McDermott, a midfielder, started each of the first 13 games of his freshman campaign before being sidelined for the final two. An NEC All-Rookie Team selection, he recorded 24 points on 12 goals and 12 assists, while adding eight ground balls. He was one of just two Dolphins to record at least one point in each of the first 13 games. He had six games with multiple points, including a career-best four in a victory over Cleveland State on March 22, and four games with at least two goals.
The Dolphins, under 28th-year head coach Sheehan, return 35 letterwinners from last year's 9-6 squad, which earned the top seed in the NEC tournament, including eight who started at least one game, while adding a graduate transfer, two sophomore transfers and 16 freshmen.
