Peter Hatton (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt/Club Med Academics/Army West Point) has been named the Northeast Conference men's tennis co-Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Thursday afternoon.
Through the team's four matches to start the Spring season, Hatton is 3-1 in singles play and 3-0 in doubles action. He opened the year by defeating DePaul's Matteo Iaquinto, a unanimous All-BIG EAST first team pick and the 2024 BIG EAST Championship Most Outstanding Player, in straight sets (6-1, 6-3). After falling against Dartmouth, he registered NEC wins over Binghamton's William Morais Binnie (6-2, 6-3) and Saint Francis' Tyler Nguyen (6-2, 6-1), both of whom were first team All-NEC honorees last spring. Adrian Daniel (Tel Aviv, Israel/Montana State) began the season with a 7-6 victory at the top position against DePaul. They then notched a 6-4 victory against Binghamton on Friday and a 6-1 win on Sunday against Saint Francis.
Including tournament play in the Fall, Hatton is 6-4 in singles play and 8-2 in doubles action and has closed within two singles victories and six doubles wins of the program records held by Tom Jarry '23
The Dolphins (3-2, 2-0 NEC) is back on the courts on Sunday against Colgate University at 2:00 p.m. at Drumlins Country Club.
