Bridgewater, N.J. – Freshman infielder Tim Denet (West Harrison, N.Y./Iona Prep) has been named the NEC Rookie and Co-Player of the Week due to his play during the baseball team's three-game conference sweep at Maryland Eastern Shore this weekend.

During the three contests, Denet posted a .700 batting average with a 1.986 OPS and 1.200 slugging percentage, tallying seven hits, six runs, two walks, two doubles, a home run and four runs batted in.

During Le Moyne's 7-2 win over the Hawks in game one, Denet provided a double and a two-run home run, his third of the season, to finish the contest with a game-high three RBIs in addition to two walks.

During game two, which Le Moyne won by a score of 12-2 in seven innings, Denet went 3 for 3 at the plate with a game-high three runs scored.

In the finale, he registered two hits, two runs and an RBI to help the Dolphins claim an 11-4 victory and secure the series sweep.

Through 11 starts and 40 at bats this season, Denet is slashing .425/.500/.700 with 17 hits, three home runs, 10 runs scored and eight runs batted in. His 1.200 OPS currently ranks third among all NEC players.

Denet is the first Dolphin to claim a weekly award so far this season, and the first Le Moyne player to be named NEC Rookie & Player of the week in the same week.

The Le Moyne baseball team will return to action this weekend with a three-game non-conference series at UMass Lowell, with game one slated for Friday at 3:00 p.m.
