Ithaca, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's tennis team will take on the Cornell University Big Red in non-conference action Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at the Reis Tennis Center.
Le Moyne most recently suffered a 6-1 setback against FDU in NEC action on March 22.
Senior
Isabella Barona (Manta, Ecuador/Talentos de Manta) leads Le Moyne in singles conference victories so far this season with a 6-1 record against NEC opponents.
Sophomore
Ella Fernando (Manchester, England/Stonyhurst College) and junior
Alicia Alvarez (Madrid, Spain/IES Ortega y Gasset) have recorded four conference singles victories each.

Feriel Mahbouli (Tunis, Tunisia/Lycee 36/South Carolina State) and Barona and junior
Paula Casares (A Coruna, Spain/Colegio Maristas Cristo Rey) have won eight doubles matches each in dual match competition this season. Fernando and Mahbouli are 8-5 at the first position, while Barona and Casares are 8-2 in No. 3 doubles matches.
The Dolphins hold a 7-7 record on the season, including 4-3 in conference action.
Cornell, led by head coach Katie Zordani, is currently 9-4, including 0-1 against Ivy League opponents.
Cornell dropped its first Ivy League match at #71 Columbia University on March 29 by a score of 4-0, but prior to that the Big Red had won three straight matches against Buffalo, Howard and Rochester. The Big Red are 5-1 at home so far this spring.
Freshman Andrea Martinez De Los Rios holds a perfect 8-0 record in dual match singles competition for Cornell. She is 2-0 at the third position, 1-0 at the fourth position and 5-0 at the sixth position.
Sophomore Michelle Ryndin is 6-3 in dual match singles competition, including 5-3 at the first position. Freshman Sage Loudon is 2-0 in No. 1 singles matches, and 6-4 in dual match singles matches on the year.
Martinez De Los Rios has also had success in doubles competition alongside both Jenny Wong and Alexandra Savu.
Martinez De Los Rios and Savu are 3-1 in dual match doubles, while Martinez De Los Rios and Wong are 3-0.
Emma Baker and Ryndin have partnered at first position doubles in each of Cornell's last three matches. The duo claimed wins during the Howard and Rochester matches, but suffered their first loss against Columbia.
Following Wednesday's match, the Le Moyne women's tennis team will return to action on Saturday when they host LIU for a 7:00 p.m. NEC match at Elevate Fitness in Liverpool.
