Syracuse, N.Y. – Le Moyne College senior center fielder Paulie Goodness (Palmyra, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon/Finger Lakes C.C.) of the baseball team has been selected as the Le Moyne Athlete of the Week, presented by King + King Architects.
 
Goodness picks up the recognition after slashing .545/.625/.545 with five runs scored, five stolen bases, three walks and two RBI in Le Moyne's 2-1 weekend against Mercyhurst. He went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run and one RBI in an 11-4 win in Saturday's first game. He then went 3-for-4 with two walks, three stolen bases, one run and one RBI in a 7-5 loss in Saturday's nightcap. He closed out the series going 2-for-3 with a walk and a hit by pitch and three runs scored as the Dolphins rallied in the ninth inning for an 11-10 victory. He started the ninth-inning rally with a single up the middle.
 
Through 25 games played, including 24 starts, he is slashing .400/.525/.500 with seven doubles, one triple, 28 runs scored and 26 stolen bases. He ranks second in the NEC in stolen bases (behind teammate Jack Cannon's 33), third in on-base percentage, fourth in average, tied for 14th in hit by pitches (7), 15th in OPS (1.025), tied for 16th in hits (36), tied for 18th in doubles and tied for 19th in runs scored.
 
The Dolphins will return to action on Friday against FDU at 3:00 p.m. at Dick Rockwell Field.
