LUCAS WINGER NAMED NEC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

4/6/2026 4:08:00 PM

Bridgewater, N.J. – Le Moyne College junior goalkeeper Lucas Winger (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) has been named the NEC men's lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Winger earns the honor for the first time this season and for the fourth time in his career after making 12 saves in Le Moyne's 6-4 come-from-behind victory over Detroit Mercy on Saturday. He made four saves in each of the third and fourth quarters, while holding the Titans to just a third quarter goal as the Dolphins scored the final four goals of the game.

Through 12 games, Winger has 164 saves and a .567 save percentage. He is second in the NEC in saves, save percentage and saves per game (13.67). If Le Moyne student-athletes qualified for national rankings during the institution's transition period, Winger would be second nationally in saves, seventh in saves per game and tied for eighth in save percentage.

Le Moyne (3-9, 2-2 NEC) is back in action next Saturday at Wagner College at 2:00 p.m. The teams are currently tied for the fourth and final seed in the NEC standings.
