Jamesville, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Frank Dillon Memorial Invitational on Saturday. The Dolphins were back at Jamesville Beach State Park for the first time since 2019, when they competed at the NE-10 Championships.
"It was beautiful racing weather to line up with OCC and Oswego State at Jamesville Beach State Park," said head coach
Tanner Beebe.
Junior
Isabella O'Donnell (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) recorded the best finish of the day for the 'Phins, placing 2
nd overall after running a time of 15.18.5. Senior
Mackenzie Ples (Lowville, N.Y./Lowville) placed 6
th overall, clocking in with a time of 16:29.8. Junior
Jasmin Gonzalez-Rivera (Utica, N.Y./Thomas R. Proctor) and freshman
Amelia Lyden (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) placed 8
th and 9
th after running times of 17:22.8 and 17:30.3, respectively.
Sophomore
Emma Bohall (Schenectady, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston) ran a time of 17:48.8, placing 13
th overall. Freshman
Gabbie Lansing (Schenectady, N.Y./Schalmont) placed 15
th overall clocking in with a time of 18:49.2 to round out the top-15 on the day.
On the men's side, junior
Carson Campbell (Lee Center, N.Y./Rome Free Academy), junior
Paul Clark (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker/Onondaga C.C.), and senior
Mike Purvis (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) placed 3
rd, 4
th, and 5
th, respectively. Campbell crossed the finish line in a time of 20:21.7, Clark with a time of 20:34.0, and Purvis with a time of 21:14.5.
Sophomore
Emmett Bachmann (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) placed 9
th overall after running a time of 21:58.5, as freshman
Jacob Johnson (Hartwick, N.Y./Cooperstown) placed 10
th overall, running a time of 22:11.0 to round out the top-15 on the day for the men.
"Overall, we got a little excited in our first lap for the men and women, and weren't quite able to hold those paces," said Beebe. "We'll have a great opportunity to build on these performances next week at the Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational next Saturday."
