Waltham, Mass. - The sixth-seeded Le Moyne College men's tennis team had their season ended at the hands of third-seeded Bentley on Wednesday afternoon in the first round of the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament by a score of 5-2.

Freshman Daniel Sullivan (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) paced the Dolphins by defeating four-time freshman of the week and two-time player of the week Jigar Gada at first singles 6-1, 6-1. The win for Sullivan made it his fifth consecutive to close out the season. Sullivan also teamed up with fellow freshman Brian Rice (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) at first doubles to beat Gada and Alec Spycher to give Le Moyne their only other victory on the day. The tandem of Sullivan and Rice also closed out the season winning five in a row.

Both Rice (6-4, 6-0) and classmate James Shelp (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) (6-2, 6-1), playing at second and third singles respectively, lost in straight sets. Freshman Andrew Gleason (Gorham, Maine/Cheverus) took Bentley to a third set before dropping the match 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 at fourth singles. Bentley only needed the first four singles matches to secure the victory.

Bentley was able to pick up two of its wins in doubles action over Shelp and Joseph Persia (Spencerport, N.Y./Spencerport) at second doubles 8-2 and over Gleason and Ben Jordan (Cassville, N.Y./Mt. Markham) at third doubles 8-2.
