Sutton, Mass. – The Le Moyne College men's golf team opened the season with a fifth-place finish on Tuesday at the Assumption College Shootout at the 6,909-yard, par 72 Blackstone National Golf Club.
Holy Cross's "White" team won the team event with a total score of 294. Roberto Macado and Tim DiStefano, both of Holy Cross, shared medalist honors after firing a two-under par 70.
Juniors Chris Webber (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) and Chris Sova (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) and freshman Craig Esposito (Ithaca, N.Y.) each shot a 76 to lead the Dolphins. Senior Andy Lloyd (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) added a 77 to round out Le Moyne's top four performers. Senior Ben Conger (Manlius, N.Y.) recorded a score of 78.
Le Moyne returns to the links at the Colgate Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at Seven Oaks Country Club.
