Berlin, Md. - The Le Moyne College men's golf team opened up its spring season with a twelfth-place finish at the St. Thomas Aquinas Spring Invitational. The tournament was held at the par 72, 7001-yard Rum Point Golf Course over the weekend.

Dowling College won the team competition with a 27-over par, 603, which included a team score of 302 on the first day and 301 on day two. Sylvain Debiais of UMass Lowell won the individual competition after posting a 3-under par 141 after posting a 73 on Saturday and a 68 in the second round. St. Thomas Aquinas, which led by seven shots after the first day with a 295, finished second with a 605. Finishing in a tie for third place were American International College and Pace University, each finishing with a team score of 613. Rounding out the top five was UMass Lowell with a score of 614, which included the best second round score of 300. The Dolphins opened the invitational with 327 and posted a 321 on the second day.

Freshman Dan Molter (Port Crane, N.Y./Chenango Forks) led the Dolphins by posting a two-day score of 160 to land in a tie for 40th. Molter carded an 83 in the first round and a 77 in round two. Senior Chris Sova (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) finished one shot behind with a 161 to tie for 45th place after rounds of 79 and 82. Junior Josh Cook (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool/Onondaga C.C.) tied for 50th after carding rounds of 83 and 80 for a two-day score of 183. Freshman Mitch Hillegas (Binghamton, N.Y./Chenango Valley) finished with a 164 after posting an 82 in both rounds and senior Anthony Viskovich (Massena, N.Y./Massena) completed the tournament with a 168 on rounds of 86 and 82.

Le Moyne returns to the links on Saturday and Sunday at the Peter King Memorial hosted by Dowling College at Long Island National Golf Club.
