Box Score Worcester, Mass. – Senior forward Cameron Green (University Heights, Ohio/St. Ignatius) scored two goals, including the game-winner 5:05 into overtime, to lead the Le Moyne College men's soccer team to a 3-2 win at Assumption on Wednesday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at the Multi-Sport Stadium.
The Dolphins got on the scoreboard first with less than seven minutes to play in the first half. On Le Moyne's fifth shot of the half, Green was able to find the back of the net at the 38:12 mark for his first goal of the year.
Assumption evened the score at one apiece 17:49 into the second half as Jose Paulo sent a shot from 20 yards out into the upper right corner of the goal after taking a pass from Nem Kaurin.
Le Moyne regained the lead with 7:31 remaining in regulation as sophomore midfielder Casey Murphy (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) headed in his third goal of the campaign off a pass from junior midfielder Zachary MacNabb (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse/UNC Pembroke).
Paulo forced overtime by scoring with 2:29 left after taking a pass from Guga Pereira.
Just over five minutes into the overtime period, Green collected the ball and raced towards the goal before beating the goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation for the game-winner, the first of his career.
Junior goalkeeper Matthew Silva (Brampton, Ontario/St. Augustine) made five saves to earn his 20th career win between the pipes. Dana King took the loss after stopping just two of the five shots he faced. Assumption recorded an 11-10 edge in shots, while Le Moyne took eight of the game's 11 corner kicks.
Le Moyne (2-4, 1-2 NE-10), which snapped a two-game conference losing streak - its first since the 2006 season, returns to action on Saturday against 24th-ranked Southern New Hampshire at 1:00 p.m.
