Syracuse, N.Y. – Junior midfielder Alexander Lautner (Munich, Germany/Theodolinden Gymnasium) dished out a pair of assists to lead the Le Moyne College men's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Assumption College on Wednesday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference play at Ted Grant Field.

The Dolphins opened the game's scoring just 2:19 into the contest. After Lautner had a shot blocked by an Assumption defender, he collected the rebound outside the left corner of the goal box and sent a pass across the box. Freshman midfielder Ethan Gunty (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem) ran onto the ball and drilled it into the back of the net for his third goal of the campaign.

Le Moyne doubled its lead almost 37 minutes later. After taking a pass on the left sideline, freshman midfielder James Goodridge (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) crossed the ball into the penalty box. Lautner redirected the ball out of the air to senior forward Michael Spadine (Owego, N.Y./Owego Free Academy), who blasted the ball into the top right corner of the net for his third tally of the season. With the goal, Spadine moved into 12th place on the program's all-time goals list with 22, while moving into a tie for 15th place on the points chart with 49.

Assumption cut its deficit in half with 3:37 remaining in the opening stanza with its first goal in 29 days (six games). Following a free kick from the left side of the field into the penalty box, Max Roche pushed a pass towards the left post, where Josh Dutilley found the back of the net for the second time this year.

The second half featured an 8-5 margin in shots in favor of the Dolphins, but neither team had a serious scoring chance.

Senior goalkeeper Matthew Silva">Matthew Silva (Brampton, Ontario/St. Augustine) finished the game with two saves to earn his 34th career victory. Dana King registered six saves in the loss for the Greyhounds. Le Moyne recorded a 15-7 advantage in shots, while the Greyhounds posted a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.

Le Moyne (9-5, 6-4 NE-10), which improved to 15-3 all-time against the Greyhounds, including five straight victories, returns to action on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at 10th-ranked Southern New Hampshire University, which has already clinched the top seed in this year's Northeast-10 Conference Championships.
