The Dolphins opened the game's scoring just under five and one-half minutes into the game. Senior forward Emmanuel Chanelo (Syracuse, N.Y./Corcoran) sent a pass from the endline on the left side in front of the goal, where freshman forward Ethan Gunty (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem) charged in and drilled the ball into the back of the net from one yard out for his first collegiate goal at the 5:28 mark.

Adelphi evened the score at one goal apiece with just under 11 minutes remaining in the first half. Off a corner kick from the right side by Nicholas Costa, Juan Aguiar flicked the ball in front of the net, where John Sabal slipped through the Le Moyne defense and knocked the ball into the center of the net. Following a free kick from the right side that was turned back by the Adelphi defense, sophomore midfielder Anthony Scaravillo (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) chipped the ball into the penalty box, where Creedon got under the ball and headed it into the middle of the goal for his second game-winning goal in three contests.
