MEN'S SOCCER PICKS UP FIRST WIN WITH 3-0 VICTORY OVER DAEMEN

Box Score

Syracuse, N.Y. – Junior back Cal Filtch (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) recorded a career-high three points to lead the Le Moyne College men's soccer team to a 3-0 win over Daemen College on Saturday afternoon at Ted Grant Field.

The Dolphins opened the game's scoring just under 11 minutes into the contest. Senior midfielder Zachary MacNabb (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse/UNC Pembroke) carried the ball down the left side of the end line before sending a pass to the left corner of the goal box to senior forward Emmanuel Chanelo (Syracuse, N.Y./Corcoran), who fired a shot off the goalkeeper's left hand and inside the right goal post for his fourth career goal.

After a Le Moyne forward was pulled down inside the penalty box with 7:45 remaining in the first half, Filtch buried the penalty kick into the left side of the netting for third goal of his career.

Le Moyne finished off the contest's scoring off a corner kick with 3:40 left in the game. From the right corner, Filtch put the ball eight yards in front of the goal, where six-foot, three-inch junior back Keleenna Onyeaka (Birmingham, England/Solihull Sixth Form College/Felician) headed the ball into the left corner for his first goal as a Dolphin.

Senior goalkeeper Matthew Silva">Matthew Silva (Brampton, Ontario/St. Augustine) turned away both shots he faced to earn the win between the pipes, while posting his 19th career shutout, which ties for the second-most in the program's history with Mike Williams '97 and Tim Mann '06. Matt Daddario registered six saves in the loss for the Wildcats. The Dolphins recorded a 14-6 advantage in shots and 8-2 edge in corner kicks.

Le Moyne (1-1) opens Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Saint Michael's at 11:00 a.m.
