North East, Pa. – Junior Emilie Oakes (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) registered a 172 to lead the Le Moyne College women's golf team to an 11th-place finish at the season-opening Evann Parker Memorial Invitational hosted by Mercyhurst University at the par-72, 5806-yard Lake View Country Club on Friday and Saturday.

The Dolphins finished the 16-team invitational in 11th place with a two-day score of 713, the second-best score in the program's history and one off the program's record. The Dolphins posted a 355, the third-best round in the program's history, in the first round and then tallied a 358 on Saturday.

Trevecca Nazarene won the team competition with a 662 off rounds of 327 and 335. Gannon University, which will host the Michael Corbett Fall Classic the next two days, was one shot back in second place after posting rounds of 329 and 334. Seton Hill University landed in third place with a 675 off rounds of 340 and 335, while the host Lakers placed fourth after rounds of 335 and 343 for a 678. West Chester University finished in fifth place with a score of 683 following rounds of 346 and 337. Gannon's Eva Schonander and West Virginia Wesleyan's Becky Gossard tied for first place with a two-round score of 157. Schonander posted rounds of 78 and 79, while Gossard turned in rounds of 80 and 77.

Oakes opened the invitational with a 90 to land in a six-way tie for 41st place. She then carded a career-best 82 on Saturday to jump up 16 spots in the standings. Classmate Emily Stickel (Kensington, Conn./Berlin) finished in a six-way tie for 32nd place with a 177 after registering rounds of 85, which tied for 18th place on Friday, and 92. Freshman Lauren Mayse (Cecilton, Md./Bohemia Manor) recorded a 181 in her collegiate debut to tie for 45th place off rounds of 91 and 90, while sophomore Kayla Burt (Williamsville, N.Y./Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart) was three shots back with a 184 off rounds of 90 and 94 to tie for 57th place. Junior Stephanie Bush (Turin, N.Y./South Lewis/Mohawk Valley C.C.) posted a 189 in her Le Moyne debut to place in a tie for 65th after rounds of 90 and 99 to round out the team's five competitors.

The Dolphins continue their opening weekend road trip to northwest Pennsylvania on Sunday with the first day of Gannon's Michael Corbett Fall Classic at Lake Shore Country Club.
