RESULTSSyracuse, N.Y. – Assumption College registered an 8-1 win over the Le Moyne College women's tennis team on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at the Skytop Tennis Courts.
The Greyhounds started off the match by sweeping the three doubles matches. Hannah Riley and Cassie Burbine recorded an 8-5 win at the top spot over freshmen
Rithika Vajjiravelu (Chennai, Tamil Nadu/Kendriya Vidyalaya) and
Amica Benoit-Limosani (Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Quebec/Collège Saint-Maurice). At second doubles, Aida Vila and Maggie Holland posted an 8-0 victory over sophomore
Christina Perry (Endwell, N.Y./Seton Catholic) and senior
Jessica Geary (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse), while Kristen Carbone and Aubrey Lovejoy were 8-2 winners over seniors
Dominique Canale (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego/Arcadia) and
Margaret LaFleur (Darien Center, N.Y./Attica).
Le Moyne earned its point at first singles as Vajjiravelu registered a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Vila. The matches at second, third and fourth singles all went three sets. Burbine recorded a 6-2, 3-6, 12-10 win over Benoit-Limosani at second singles, while Riley topped Canale, 2-6, 6-4, 6-0, at third singles. At the fourth spot, Marie Black was a 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5) winner over Perry. Holland tallied a 6-0, 6-1 win over Geary at fifth singles, while Lovejoy recorded a 6-4, 6-2 victory at sixth singles over freshman
