Mansfield, Pa. – The Le Moyne College men's and women's track team combined to win seven events at the Mountaineer Invitational on Saturday evening at Robert T. Maxson Track.
On the women's side, freshman
Meg Hubregsen (Honeoye Falls, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) recorded a pair of top-three events in the sprints. She placed third in the 100-meter dash in 13.97 seconds before winning the 200-meter dash in 28.65 seconds. Classmate
Jeanette Cudney (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia) earned Le Moyne's second win of the meet by topping the field in the 5000-meter run in 19:48.45. Freshman
Alison Iles (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) recorded a pair of second-place finishes with a time of 29.06 seconds in the 200-meter dash and a time of 1:06.46 in the 400-meter dash. Sophomore
Elena Doctor (Buffalo, N.Y./West Seneca East) was one spot behind Cudney in the 5000-meter run with a time of 19:55.98, freshman
Meghan Blair (Syracuse, N.Y./Faith Heritage) gave the Dolphins the top three finishers in the 200-meter dash in 30.70 seconds. Freshman
Erin Fayle (Lowville, N.Y./Lowville) registered a time of 2:33.27 in the 800-meter run to finish in second place. Freshman
Bella Sterly (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) recorded a pair of top-four finishes on the evening. She placed third in the shot put with a distance of 35-feet, five-inches and came in fourth in the discus throw with a distance of 88-feet, 11-inches. Freshman
Alexandra Sheehan (Moorestown, N.J./Holy Cross) placed sixth in the javelin throw with a distance of 67-feet, 11-inches.
On the men's side, freshman
Matthew Civilette (Fredonia, N.Y./Fredonia) finished in the top-two of the horizontal jumping events. He claimed first place in the long jump with a leap of 20-feet, 10.5-inches and then placed second in the triple jump with a distance of 41-feet, 8-inches. Classmate
David Slattery (Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury) recorded a pair of top-three finishes in throwing events. He placed third in the shot put with a distance of 44-feet, 1.25-inches and then won the discus throw with a mark of 136-feet, four-inches. On the track, senior
Aaron Fuller (Troy, N.Y./Lansingburgh) won the 400-meter hurdles by almost one and one-half second with a time of 59.43 seconds. Freshman
Sean Beney (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) captured the 5000-meter run by almost 14 seconds with a time of 15:56.96. Freshman
Phillip Howell (Syracuse, N.Y./Academy of Science) recorded a pair of third-place finishes in the sprints. He turned in a time of 12.13 seconds in the 100-meter dash and then a time of 24.89 seconds in the 200-meter dash. Freshman
Elliot Hernandez (Boonville, N.Y./Adirondack) placed second in the 400-meter dash in 54.83 seconds, while classmate
Kevin O'Connor (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) was right behind him with a time of 54.91 seconds. Freshman
Brody Witaszek (Ghent, N.Y./Chatham) finished in third place in the 800-meter run in 2:08.54. The quartet of Fuller, Hernandez, Howell and O'Connor placed third in the 4x400-meter relay in 3:47.13.
The Dolphins are back in action at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2 at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, Connecticut.
