GEREMIA NAMED OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR AS FIVE DOLPHINS ARE NAMED ECAC WOMEN’S LACROSSE ALL-STARS

Danbury, Conn. – Le Moyne College junior attacker Erica Geremia (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee/SUNY Cortland) has been named the ECAC Division II Women's Lacrosse Player of the Year, as announced by the conference office this week. Additionally, the Dolphins had five players named ECAC All-Stars.

In addition to being selected as the Offensive Player of the Year, Geremia was named to the All-Star First Team along with senior goalkeeper Molly Marbut (Edgewater, Md./South River) and sophomore defender Vicki Graveline (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee). Junior attacker Maggie Monnat (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) and sophomore midfielder Amari Pollard (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) were named Second Team All-Stars.

Geremia, who was selected to the IWLCA All-America First Team (two DIII, one DII) for the third straight year in May, was previously named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year. She was the third Dolphin in the last four years to receive the honor. The Northeast-10 Player of the Week a league-high five times (out of 10 weeks), Geremia tallied 121 points on 67 goals and 54 assists as a starter in all 22 games, while recording 27 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers. Her 121 points are the most in one season in the program's history, while her 67 goals and 54 assists are the second-most. With her first goal against Adelphi University on April 25, she became the first Dolphin in the program's history to record 100 points during the regular season. Just seven days later, she eclipsed the program's single-season points record (106, Brittany Brigandi, 2011) with a goal 3:38 into Le Moyne's 11-8 win over New Haven in the NE-10 semifinals. The only Division II player selected as a Tewaaraton Award nominee, she led the nation in points and was fourth in points per game (5.50). Her 67 goals were the third-most in the Northeast-10 and the 11th-most in the country. She ranked sixth in the nation in assists and 14th in assists per game (2.45), while she was second in the NE-10 in total assists and assists per game. The IWLCA Attacker of the Year in 2014, she scored at least four points in 18 of the team's 22 games, including eight games with at least seven points. Geremia, who has recorded at least one point in all 68 career games and found the back of the net in 36 straight games prior to Le Moyne's 13-9 win over New Haven in the NCAA quarterfinals, netted the game-winning goal in eight contests, the most by a Dolphin in over 13 years.

She recorded 95 draw controls, caused 39 turnovers and scooped up 33 ground balls, while scoring one goal. Her draw control total and average of 4.75 per game are the highest marks in the program's history. Her 39 caused turnovers are also the most by a Dolphin, passing the mark of 38 set by Katlin Walker in 2011, while her average of 1.95 is the best by 0.14. She led the Northeast-10 and was 13th nationally in caused turnovers per game, while she ranked fourth in the conference and 17th nationally in draw controls per game.
