Mansfield, Mass. – Le Moyne College sophomore goalkeeper
Ben Beaury (Cohoes, N.Y./LaSalle Institute) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference men's soccer Goalkeeper of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
Beaury, honored by the conference for the fifth time in his career, including the fourth time as the week's top goalkeeper, registered nine saves in posting a pair of shutouts in Le Moyne's 2-0 week. He opened the season by making five saves in a 1-0 victory at Lock Haven University on Thursday. Two days later, he turned away four shots in a 2-0 home-opening win over Mercy College. With his two shutouts, Beaury became the first goalkeeper in the program's history to record 10 shutouts within his first 20 career starts.
Le Moyne (2-0), which has shut out nine straight non-conference opponents since a 3-1 season-opening loss to Nyack in 2013 (outscoring the nine opponents 23-0), opens Northeast-10 Conference action next Saturday at Southern Connecticut State University at 1:00 p.m.
