Pittsford, N.Y. – Sophomore
Katherine Walsh (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) tied for second place to lead the Le Moyne College women's golf team to a first-place finish at the Nazareth Fall Classic on Saturday and Sunday at the par 72, 5833-yard Irondequoit Country Club and the par 71, 5891-yard Monroe Golf Club.
Le Moyne finished in first place with a 36-hole total of 655. The Dolphins posted a 322 in the first round and then carded a 333 on Sunday. St. Lawrence University placed second with a 664 off rounds of 329 and 335. Nazareth finished in third place with an 869 after posting scores of 421 and 448. St. Lawrence's Olivia Zackman earned medalist honors with a score of 154 following rounds of 78 and 76.
Walsh tied for second place with a two-day total of 162. She turned in a 79 on Saturday to land in a three-way tie for second place and then posted an 83 in the second round to finish in a two-way tie for second. Freshman
Bianca Cruz-Hernandez (Lake Mary, Fla./Lake Mary) placed fourth with a 164 after registering a 79 in the first round and an 85 on Sunday, while junior
Ashley Mayse (Cecilton, Md./Bohemia Manor) was one spot back with a 165 following an 83 on Saturday and an 82 on the second day. Freshman
Lauren Kase (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart) posted a sixth-place finish with rounds of 86 and 83 for a total of 169, while senior
Kayla Burt (Williamsville, N.Y./Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart) tallied a 170 to place seventh off rounds of a career high-tying 81 and 89.
Le Moyne concluded the Fall season with a team average of 328 (down from 341.3 last year) and finished in the top-five in each of its six events entered, including three top-three finishes.
