Boston, Mass. – The Le Moyne College men's and women's track teams each placed 11th at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships on Saturday afternoon at the Reggie Lewis Center.
The men earned their two points in the 3000-meter run, where sophomore
Sean Beney (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) placed seventh in a program-record time of 8:54.82. Beney added a program-record time of 4:28.96 in the one-mile run to place 10th, up one spot from last year.
Classmate
Matthew Civilette (Fredonia, N.Y./Fredonia) also posted a pair of program-record performances on the evening. After placing 13th in the event at last year's Championship, he placed 11th in the triple jump with a distance of 43-feet, 6-inches. He registered a leap of 20-feet, 9-inches to place 16th in the long jump.
Freshman
Griffin Klein (Fair Haven, N.Y./Red Creek) lowered his own program record in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:00.89 to place 14th.
The top three times in the program's history were posted in the 500-meter dash by
Hamza Elhabbal (Fayetteville, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) (1:09.35, 15th place), sophomore
Elliot Hernandez (Boonville, N.Y./Adirondack) (1:09.42, 16th) and sophomore
Kevin O'Connor (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) (1:09.44, 17th).
Freshman
Danny Dibiase (Schenectady, N.Y./Guilderland) registered a program-record time of 52.58 seconds in the 400-meter dash to place 16th.
Senior
Adam Zinger (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) became the first Dolphin to break 17 minutes in the 5000-meter run with a time of 16:58.19 to place 16th.
Freshman
Jordan Finch (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Poughkeepsie) set the program's record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.34 seconds to place 22nd.
On the women's side, the Dolphins earned their point in the 4x400-meter relay as sophomores
Meg Hubregsen (Honeoye Falls, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) and
Allison Iles (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) and freshmen
Val Pirro (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) and
Bethia Nivens (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) registered a program-record time of 4:11.90 to place eighth.
Freshman
Brittney Mack (Poestenkill, N.Y./Averill Park) and sophomore
Jeanette Cudney (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia) registered the team's best individual placement as each finished ninth. Mack was ninth in the 1000-meter run in a program-record 3:08.43, while Cudney was ninth in the 5000-meter run in 19:29.10, the second-best time in the program's history.
Iles lowered her program record in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:23.63 to place 10th.
Nivens recorded a program-record performance in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.51 seconds to place 15th.
The quartet of Mack, Cudney and sophomores
Katherine Markstein (Binghamton, N.Y./Susquehanna Valley) and
Shania Hayward (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) placed ninth in the 4x800-meter relay in a program-record time of 10:21.18.
Freshman
Emma Wray (Lockport, N.Y./Starpoint) registered a 12th-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles, in 10.18 seconds, while Pirro added a 13th-place finish in the 400-meter dash in 1:06.11. Sophomore
Bella Sterly (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) turned in a 15th-place finish in the shot put with a distance of 34-feet, 7.5-inches, her second-best mark of the season.
The Dolphins open the outdoor season at the Muhlenberg University on Saturday, April 2.
