Williamsville, N.Y. – Five Dolphins were double-winners as the Le Moyne College women's tennis team defeated Daemen College, 8-1, on Saturday night at the Miller Tennis Center.
The Dolphins opened the evening by sweeping the three doubles matches. At the top spot, freshman
Tiffany Dun (Templestowe, Victoria/Doncaster Secondary College) and sophomore
Amica Benoit-Limosani (Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Quebec/Collège Saint-Maurice) defeated Karli Hollins and Hayle Scanlan, 8-2. Senior
Allison Jones (Utica, N.Y./Notre Dame) and junior
Christina Perry (Endwell, N.Y./Seton Catholic) recorded an 8-4 win over Gretchen Ringler and Jessica Robins at the second spot, while sophomores
Rithika Vajjiravelu (Chennai, Tamil Nadu/Kendriya Vidyalaya) and
Autumn Hogan (Rochester, N.Y./Aquinas institute) registered an 8-1 victory at the third position over Maria McGrath and Aman Shamaa.
In singles action, the Dolphins were victorious at five of the six positions. At the second spot, Vajjiravelu was a 6-2, 6-1 winner over Scanlan. Benoit-Limosani defeated Ringler, 6-4, 6-1, at the third position, while Perry swept Robins, 6-0, 6-0, at fourth singles. Jones registered a 6-3, 6-2 victory at the fifth spot over Delaney Fragale, while Hogan topped Shamaa, 6-0, 6-3, at the sixth position. Hollins recorded Daemen's lone point of the match with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Dun at first singles.
Le Moyne (9-8) returns to action on Thursday, April 7 at Colgate University at 4:00 p.m.
