WOMEN’S GOLF PLACES FIFTH AND TIES PROGRAM RECORD AT MICHAEL CORBETT FALL CLASSIC

North East, Pa. – The Le Moyne College women's golf team tied the 36-hole program record en route to a fifth-place finish at the Michael Corbett Fall Classic hosted by Gannon University on Sunday and Monday at the par-72, 5801-yard Lake Shore Country Club.

Gannon University claimed its second straight team championship after recording a 36-hole total 617 off rounds of 308 and 309. Franklin Pierce University finished in second place with a 630 off scores of 314 and 316, while Kutztown University was three shots back in third place off rounds of 327 and 306. Ohio Dominican turned in rounds of 329 and 319 to place fourth with a 648. The Dolphins carded a program record-tying score of 653 after posting rounds of 329 and 324. The 653 equals the program record set September 19 and 20, 2015 at the Lady Penmen Invitational. The 324 in the second round is the second-best round in the program's history, while the 329 in the first round is tied for the third-best 18-hole score. Franklin Pierce's Camden Morrison captured the individual title by one shot with a two-over par 146 following consecutive rounds of 73.

Freshman Lauren Kase (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart) followed up her career-opening 78 on Friday with rounds of 78 and 79 to land in a four-way tie for 12th place with a 157. The 157 is one shy of the 36-hole individual program record set by then-freshman Katherine Walsh (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) at the Lady Penmen Invitational last year, while the 78 is tied for the third-best single-round score and the 79 is tied for the sixth-best. Kase joins Walsh as the only Dolphins to record two rounds in the 70s in the same event. Walsh turned in a 162 over Sunday and Monday to tie for 21st place following rounds of 83 and 79, which is tied for the second-best round of her career. Freshman Bianca Cruz-Hernandez (Lake Mary, Fla./Lake Mary) tallied rounds of 81 and 82 to finish in a three-way tie for 23rd place with a 163. Junior Ashley Mayse (Cecilton, Md./Bohemia Manor) tied for 41st place with a 171 after posting scores of 87 and 84, while senior Kayla Burt (Williamsville, N.Y./Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart) rounded out Le Moyne's competitors with a 181 off rounds of 92 and 89 tie for 59th place.

The Dolphins return to action on Sunday and Monday by hosting the Le Moyne Fall Invitational at The Pompey Club in Jamesville.
