Syracuse, N.Y. – In its return to the pool following the semester break, the Le Moyne College men's and women's swimming and diving teams were swept by Southern Connecticut State University on Saturday afternoon at the Rev. Vincent B. Ryan, S.J. Pool. The Owls posted a 153-133 win on the men's side and a 163-116 victory on the women's side.
Senior
Tim Buff (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) led the men's team in the loss with three individual victories, including one pool-record performance. He earned the win in the 1000-yard freestyle by over 11 seconds with a pool-record time of 9:59.37. The previous record time of 10:04.12 was set by RIT's Pete Kaemmerlen in 2005. He picked up his second victory of the day in the 200-yard breaststroke by touching the wall first by almost seven seconds with a time of 2:10.50, the second-fastest time in the pool's history. He recorded his third win by placing first in the 200-yard IM by over four seconds with a time of 1:58.98.
Freshman
Michael Dierolf (Pennsburg, Pa./Quakertown) was victorious in the 100-yard breaststroke by posting a time of 1:00.85.
Junior
Andy Raiola (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xavier) topped the field in the 500-yard freestyle by over five seconds with a time of 4:56.06.
Junior
Travis May (Mount Kisco, N.Y./Fox Lane) registered a time of 51.95 seconds, just 0.17 seconds off the pool record, to finish in first place in the 100-yard butterfly.

Cory Knapp (Weedsport, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) closed out the meet by placing first in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:28.88.
Junior
Kelsey Smith (Binghamton, N.Y./Chenango Valley) recorded two victories to lead the women's team. She touched the wall first in the 100-yard breaststroke by almost two seconds with a time of 1:09.98. She added a first-place finish in the 200-yard IM by posting a time of 2:15.23.
Sophomore
Emily Nicastro (Rochester, N.Y./Webster Schroeder) claimed the win in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:04.50.
Junior
Brittney Liddy (Rome, N.Y./Rome Free Academy/Iona) posted 183.45 points to place first in the second one-meter diving event of the afternoon.
