Cicero, N.Y. – Senior
Daniel Thomas (Fayetteville, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) tied for sixth place to lead the Le Moyne College men's golf team to a third-place finish at the Le Moyne Fall Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the par-72, 6506-yard Lake Shore Yacht & Country Club.
Laval University won the team competition with a six-under par total of 570. Laval fired a 294 in the first round to land in second place and then took over the top of the leaderboard with a 12-under par score of 276. Rollins College finished in second place with a three-under par 573 off scores of a first round-best 291 and six-under par 282. Le Moyne placed third with a 587. The Dolphins were in fourth after a first-day 297 and moved up with a two-over 290 on Saturday. Matt Paradis from Southern New Hampshire University earned medalist honors with a seven-under par score of 137 after being one of only two competitors in the 106-player field to shoot under par in each round with scores of five-under 67 and two-under 70.
Thomas, who was Le Moyne's top finisher for the second straight event and for the third time in five events this Fall, tied for sixth place with a career-best two-under par total of 142, which included an eagle and nine birdies, the third-most in the invitational. He tied his career best with a two-under par 70 in the first round to land in a tie for second place. He followed on Saturday with an even-par 72 to finish in the tie for sixth, the best finish of his career.
Senior
Jake Eno (Dennis, Mass./Dennis-Yarmouth Regional) finished in a four-way tie for 14th place with a 36-hole score of two-over par 146, which included six birdies and an eagle. He was part of a three-way tie for fourth place on Friday with a one-under 71 and then recorded a 75 in the second round.
Sophomore
Jonathan Petrin (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) tied for 23rd place with a 149. He opened with a 77 to tie for 37th place and moved up 14 places on Saturday with an even-par 72.
Senior
Joe Petrin (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) registered a 150 to land in a six-way tie for 26th place. He carded a 79 in the first round to land in a 13-way tie for 55th and followed with a one-under 71 in the second round to leap up the standings.
Freshman
Ryan Johnson (Norwich, N.Y./Norwich) tied for 83rd place with a 161 off rounds of 81 and 80.
The Dolphins wrap up the Fall season on Monday, October 30 and Tuesday, October 31 at Rollins College's 54-hole McDonough Cup at Rio Pinar Country Club in Orlando, Florida.
