MEN’S GOLF PLACES SECOND AT SAINT ROSE FALL SHOOTOUT

Guilderland, N.Y. – Senior Jake Eno (Dennis, Mass./Dennis-Yarmouth Regional) and sophomore Jonathan Petrin (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) tied for second place to lead the Le Moyne College men's golf team to a second-place finish at the Saint Rose Fall Shootout on Friday and Saturday at the par-71, 6500-yard Pinehaven Country Club.
 
Franklin Pierce University captured first place in the team competition with a two-day score of 588. The Ravens posted a 291 in the first round to grab first place and followed with a 297 on Saturday to retain the lead. The Dolphins placed second with a 597 after opening with a 306 to land in third place and then moving up a spot on Saturday with a 291, the best round of the day. The host Golden Knights placed third with a 603 off rounds of 300 and 303. Franklin Pierce's Sam Myers earned medalist honors with a two-over par 144 off round of 70 and 74.

Eno and Jonathan Petrin each tallied a three-over par 145 to finish in a three-way tie for second place, one shot behind Myers. Eno opened the Shootout with a two-over 73 to land in a three-way tie for third place. He moved up one spot with a one-over 72 in the second round. Petrin tallied a 75 to place in a three-way tie for 10th. He registered the best round of the day on Saturday with a one-under par 70 to leap up the standings.

Senior Daniel Thomas (Fayetteville, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) tied for 14th place in the 59-member field with a 152. He carded a 77 in the first round to tie for 19th place and moved up to the tie for 14th with a 75 on the second day.

Senior Joe Petrin (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) tallied a 155 to tie for 23rd place. He was part of a seven-way tie for 36th after an opening-round 81 and climbed the standings with a 74 on Saturday.

Sophomore Nicholas Barney (Apalachin, N.Y./Vestal) tied for 45th with a 162 off consecutive rounds of 81.
 
The Dolphins return to action on Monday and Tuesday at the Post University Eagles Invitational at Waterbury Country Club in Waterbury, Connecticut.
