Nashua, N.H. – Junior
Bianca Cruz-Hernandez (Lake Mary, Fla./Lake Mary) registered her third straight top-four finish as the Le Moyne College women's golf team placed sixth at the Granite State Invitational hosted by Merrimack College on Monday and Tuesday at the par-71, 5958-yard Nashua Country Club.
Franklin Pierce University won the team competition with a 36-hole score of 621 off rounds of 315 and 306. The host Warriors finished three shots back in second place following rounds of 320 and 304, the best score of the event. Southern New Hampshire University took third with scores of 326 and 322 to finish at 648. The Dolphins opened with a 340 and followed with a 339 for a 679 total and a sixth-place finish. Merrimack's Krystal Knight earned medalist honors with a four-over 146 off rounds of 77 and two-under par 69.
Cruz-Hernandez finished in fourth place in the 48-member field with a 152 off back-to-back rounds of 76. Her first-round 76 placed her in a tie for first place. Sophomore
Micayla Moldenke (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer) tied for 25th place at 170 following consecutive scores of 85. Junior
Lauren Kase (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart) carded an 89 in the first round and an 87 on the second day to tie for 29th place with a 176. Freshman
Meghan McKeen (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) registered rounds of 90 and 91 to finish with a 181 and a tie for 36th place. Junior
Tessa Zmudosky (Rome, N.Y./Rome Free Academy) placed 47th with a 209 off scores of 98 and 111.
The Dolphins return to the links at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship, hosted by The College of Saint Rose at Capital Hills at Albany, on Sunday, October 14 and Monday, October 15.
