Malvern, Pa. – The Le Moyne College men's golf team finished in 16th place at Villanova University's Wildcat Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at the par-71, 6733-yard White Manor Country Club.
Drexel University placed first in the 19-team field with a five-over par score of 573. The Dragons registered a two-under 282 in the first round to grab an eight-shot lead and then carded a 291 on Tuesday to remain at the top of the leaderboard. The University of Rhode Island placed second with a two-day total of 578 off rounds of 297 and 281, the lowest score of the event. St. John's University finished in third place with a 584 following rounds of 290 and a 294. Iona College and St. Peter's University tied for fourth place at 585. The Gaels posted rounds of 299 and 286, while the Peacocks recorded scores of 290 and 295. As it did last year, Le Moyne opened the event with a 301 to land in a tie for 13th place with Bucknell, but slipped to 16th with another 301 on Tuesday to finish at 602. David Powers from St. Peter's claimed medalist honors with a four-under par score of 138 off rounds of three-under 68 and one-under 70.
Sophomore
Nicholas Barney (Apalachin, N.Y./Vestal) led the Dolphins with a seven-over par 149 to land in a five-way tie for 38th place. He opened with a 75 to place in a 10-way tie for 45th and then moved up seven spots in the standings with a 74 on Tuesday.

Jonathan Petrin (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) was one shot behind in a 12-way tie for 43rd place with a 150. He was in 12-way tie for 55th on Monday with a 76 and then jumped 12 places with a 76 in the second round.
Senior
Joe Petrin (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) finished in a six-way tie for 58th place with a 152. He opened with a 75 to land in the 10-way tie for 45th and then carded a 77 on Tuesday.

Jake Eno (Dennis, Mass./Dennis-Yarmouth Regional) placed in a six-way tie for 64th with a 153. He registered a 75 on Monday to finish in the 10-way tie for 45th place and then turned in a 78 in the second round.

Daniel Thomas (Fayetteville, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) tied for 82nd with a 156 for the second straight year off rounds of 80 and 76.
The Dolphins are back on the links on Thursday and Friday when they host the Mike Bello Invitational at Bellevue Country Club.
