North East, Pa. – Sophomore
Bianca Cruz-Hernandez (Lake Mary, Fla./Lake Mary) tied for 12th place to lead the Le Moyne College women's golf team to a third-place finish at the Mercyhurst Spring Invitational on Saturday at the par-72, 5800-yard Lake View Country Club.
Mercyhurst won the team title with a four-player total of 338. Gannon University finished second with a 347, while the Dolphins placed third with a 355. Sara Suazo from California University of Pennsylvania earned medalist honors with an 80.
Cruz-Hernandez tallied an 87 to land in the tie for 12th in the 45-member field. Sophomore
Lauren Kase (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart) and freshman
Micayla Moldenke (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer) were part of a three-way tie for 14th place with a score of 89. Senior
Ashley Mayse (Cecilton, Md./Bohemia Manor) was one shot back and finished in a three-way tie for 17th. Junior
Katherine Walsh (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) tied for 23rd with a 93.
The Dolphins conclude the season at the Gannon Spring Invitational on Sunday and Monday at Lake Shore Country Club.
