Guilderland, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's golf team opened the season with a third-place finish at The College of Saint Rose's Fall Invitational on Sunday and Monday at the par-72, 5856-yard Western Turnpike Golf Course.
The Dolphins, under the direction of first-year head coach Brittany Siechen, opened the event with a 346 on Friday to land in fifth place in the nine-team field. The Dolphins followed with a 327 in the second round to move up two spots with a total of 673. Merrimack College claimed first place with a 633 off rounds of 326 and 307. Franklin Pierce University was one spot back with a 646 following scores of 320 and 326. Merrimack's Krystal Knight earned medalist honors with a two-under par 142 following rounds of 75 and five-under par 67.

Lauren Kase (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart) finished in career-best third place to lead the Dolphins with a 157 (tied for the third-best score of her career) off rounds of 81 and 76, which is tied for the best score in her 36-round career. Classmate
Bianca Cruz-Hernandez (Lake Mary, Fla./Lake Mary) recorded a 161 to place sixth in the 49-member field following rounds of 84 and 77, the second-best round of her 36-round career. Sophomore
Micayla Moldenke (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer) registered a 173 to finish in a tie for 19th off rounds of 88 and 85. In her collegiate debut, freshman
Meghan McKeen (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) totaled a 182 off rounds of 93 and 89 to tie for 30th place, while redshirt sophomore
S. B. (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Onondaga C.C.) posted a 201 in her collegiate debut off rounds of 98 and 103 to place 41st.
The Dolphins return to action on Sunday and Monday by hosting the Le Moyne Fall Invitational at The Pompey Club in Jamesville. Sunday's first competitor tees off at 10:30 a.m.
