RAIN WASHES OUT SECOND ROUND; MEN’S GOLF FINISHES TIED FOR SECOND AT HOME INVITATIONAL

Syracuse, N.Y.- The Le Moyne Fall Invitational fell victim to a typical rainy day in Central New York. The second round of the men's golf team's home tournament was cancelled today due to extensive rain.
 
Bellevue Country Club was the site of the tournament, which was played as a par 71 from 6498 yards. The Assumption Greyhounds led after the first round and were declared the winners after a first round combined score of 296. The Dolphins and Post University were tied for second, just three shots behind Assumption. Southern New Hampshire's AJ Cavotta won the individual competition with a score of 70. He finished two strokes up on sophomore Tyler Birdd (Elma, N.Y./Iroquois) and Assumption's Jack Moy, who had a hole in one on the seventh hole.
 
Birdd started his round with a front nine score of 34, which included two birdies. He finished with a 38 on the back to shoot a one over round of 72. Sophomore Spencer Baum (Syracuse, N.Y./Liverpool) finished in a tie for seventh after a round of 74, which featured four birdies, tied for the second-most at the event.
 
Graduate student Ryan Johnson (Norwich, N.Y./Norwich) shot a 76, placing him in a tie for 20th. Freshman Johnny Gruninger (Syracuse, N.Y./Manlius Pebble Hill) finished in a tie for 32nd after a round of 77. Junior Nicholas Bove (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) shot a score of 79, placing him in a tie for 43rd.
 
Sophomore Justin Fiato (Binghamton, N.Y./Binghamton), senior Jack Haxton (Orchard Park, N.Y./St. Francis), and junior Luke Barney (Apalachin, N.Y./Vestal) all played as individuals and all shot a 76 and finished in a tie for 20th. Haxton's round of 76 included an eagle on the fifth hole and a birdie on the third hole.
 
Sophomore Anthony Falgiatano (Cicero, N.Y./Bishop Grimes), junior Maxwell Dec (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker), and junior Noah Unger (Buffalo, N.Y./St. Francis) also played as individuals and all shot scores of 82, placing them in a tie for 61st.
