Ithaca, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's and men's swimming and diving teams closed out the first semester by competing at the three-day, 11-team Ithaca College Bomber Invitational at the Kelsey P. Bird Natatorium. The women placed eighth and the finished ninth.
SUNY Geneseo was victorious on the women's side with 1675 points, while the host Bombers picked up 1257.5 points for second place. The University of Rochester was third with 1042, while the Dolphins registered 489 points to land in eighth place.
On the men's side, Geneseo captured the team victory with 1863 points, while Ithaca finished in second place with 1436.5 points. Rochester placed third with 1143 points. The Dolphins recorded 455 points to place ninth.
Redshirt freshman
Grace Thomas (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) registered 53 individual points to lead the Dolphins. She posted an NE10 season-best time of 59.16 seconds to place fifth in the 100-yard backstroke. On Sunday morning, she placed second in the 200-yard backstroke in a season-best time of 2:08.82.

Caitlyn Longway (Sauquoit, N.Y./Sauquoit Valley) also tallied 53 individual points over the weekend. She registered a tie for seventh-place in the 50-yard freestyle in 24.70 seconds. She placed 19th in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:00.14. She finished sixth in the 100-yard freestyle in 53.89 seconds.

Vicky Silaika (Rexford, N.Y./Shenendehowa) placed 22nd in the 500-yard freestyle in a season-best 5:27.42. She turned in a 20th-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke in a season-best 1:02.06. She finished 11th in the 1650-yard freestyle in 18:41.92, the fastest time in the Northeast-10 Conference this year. She tallied a 14th-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke in a season-best 2:13.54.

Madison Zapisek (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) opened the meet by placing 17th in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:20.83, almost 20 seconds faster than her previous-best time of the year. She placed 23rd in the 200-yard freestyle in a season-best 2:00.92. She posted a season-best time of 2:25.76 in the 200-yard butterfly to place 21st. She tallied a season-best time of 1:05.24 to place 12th in the 100-yard IM.

Mikael Ann Melfi (Clayton, N.Y./Thousand Islands) posted a season-best time of 1:10.20 to place 13th in the 100-yard breaststroke. She finished 17th in the 100-yard IM in a season-best 1:07.28. She placed 21st in the 200-yard breaststroke in a season-best 2:37.14.

Thomas, Melfi, Nelson and Longway teamed for a seventh-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay to close out Saturday morning's competition in an NE10 season-best 4:06.42.

Charles Morris (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) led the Dolphins with 80 individual points. He registered an NE10 season-best time of 21.21 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle to place fifth. He placed 19th in the 100-yard butterfly in 53.59 seconds, his best time of the year. He recorded a seventh-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke in an NE10 season-best 58.64 seconds. He finished in fourth place in the 100-yard IM in a season-best 53.54 seconds.

Belal Hamad (Syracuse, N.Y./PSAL at Fowler) recorded 73 individual points. He finished ninth in the 500-yard freestyle in an NE10 season-best 4:49.62 on Friday. On Saturday morning, he placed third in the 200-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 1:44.12, the second-fastest in the NE10 this year. He registered an NE10 season-best time of 46.66 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle to place fourth.
