Ithaca, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's and men's swimming and diving teams closed out the first semester by competing at the three-day, 11-team Ithaca College Bomber Invitational at the Kelsey P. Bird Natatorium. The women placed eighth and the finished ninth.
 
SUNY Geneseo was victorious on the women's side with 1675 points, while the host Bombers picked up 1257.5 points for second place. The University of Rochester was third with 1042, while the Dolphins registered 489 points to land in eighth place.
 
On the men's side, Geneseo captured the team victory with 1863 points, while Ithaca finished in second place with 1436.5 points. Rochester placed third with 1143 points. The Dolphins recorded 455 points to place ninth.

Redshirt freshman Grace Thomas (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) registered 53 individual points to lead the Dolphins. She posted an NE10 season-best time of 59.16 seconds to place fifth in the 100-yard backstroke. On Sunday morning, she placed second in the 200-yard backstroke in a season-best time of 2:08.82.

Junior Caitlyn Longway (Sauquoit, N.Y./Sauquoit Valley) also tallied 53 individual points over the weekend. She registered a tie for seventh-place in the 50-yard freestyle in 24.70 seconds. She placed 19th in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:00.14. She finished sixth in the 100-yard freestyle in 53.89 seconds.

Senior Vicky Silaika (Rexford, N.Y./Shenendehowa) placed 22nd in the 500-yard freestyle in a season-best 5:27.42. She turned in a 20th-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke in a season-best 1:02.06. She finished 11th in the 1650-yard freestyle in 18:41.92, the fastest time in the Northeast-10 Conference this year. She tallied a 14th-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke in a season-best 2:13.54.

Junior Madison Zapisek (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) opened the meet by placing 17th in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:20.83, almost 20 seconds faster than her previous-best time of the year. She placed 23rd in the 200-yard freestyle in a season-best 2:00.92. She posted a season-best time of 2:25.76 in the 200-yard butterfly to place 21st. She tallied a season-best time of 1:05.24 to place 12th in the 100-yard IM.

Senior Mikael Ann Melfi (Clayton, N.Y./Thousand Islands) posted a season-best time of 1:10.20 to place 13th in the 100-yard breaststroke. She finished 17th in the 100-yard IM in a season-best 1:07.28. She placed 21st in the 200-yard breaststroke in a season-best 2:37.14.

Redshirt freshman Veronika Nelson (Vernon Center, N.Y./Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) tallied a 14th-place finish in the 400-yard IM in a season-best 4:56.25. She finished in 17th place in the 200-yard butterfly in a season-best 2:21.18.

Freshman Hannah Kellogg (Cazenovia, N.Y./Chittenango) finished 23rd in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:27.61. She turned in a time of 19:00.72, the second-fastest in the NE10 this year, in the 1650-yard freestyle to place 16th.

Junior Annamarie Goosley (Harpursville, N.Y./Harpursville) registered a 17th-place finish in the one-meter diving event with 284.70 points.

Junior Genevieve Kikukawa (Kalaupapa, Hawaii/University Laboratory School) finished 21st in the 100-yard IM in a season-best 1:09.24.

Senior Marcella Christensen (Cornwall, N.Y./Cornwall) posted a time of 19:51.43 to place 22nd in the 1650-yard freestyle.

Redshirt freshman MaryLauren Burke (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton) tied for 24th place in the 100-yard backstroke in a season-best 1:02.45. She placed 23rd in the 100-yard freestyle in a season-best 56.28 seconds.

Junior Mikayla Bonner (Gardiner, N.Y./Wallkill) placed 23rd in the 200-yard butterfly in a season-best 2:30.85.

Freshman Ella Kaback (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem) finished 24th in the 100-yard breaststroke in a season-best 1:12.11.

Redshirt freshman Jessica Testone (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) placed 24th in the 100-yard IM in a season-best 1:09.82.

On Friday night, the quartet of Thomas, Melfi, Testone and Longway placed sixth in the 200-yard medley relay in a season-best 1:51.71, the second-fastest in the NE10 this year.

On Saturday morning, Longway, Burke, senior Jordyn Sommo (Guilderland, N.Y./Guilderland) and Melfi placed seventh in the 200-yard freestyle relay in a season-best 1:40.70, the fastest in the NE10 this year.

Thomas, Melfi, Nelson and Longway teamed for a seventh-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay to close out Saturday morning's competition in an NE10 season-best 4:06.42.

Longway, Silaika, Zapisek and Kellogg placed sixth in the 800-yard freestyle relay in 8:07.83.

Burke, Silaika, Sommo and Zapisek placed eighth in the 400-yard freestyle relay in a season-best 3:46.41.

On the men's side, junior Charles Morris (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) led the Dolphins with 80 individual points. He registered an NE10 season-best time of 21.21 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle to place fifth. He placed 19th in the 100-yard butterfly in 53.59 seconds, his best time of the year. He recorded a seventh-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke in an NE10 season-best 58.64 seconds. He finished in fourth place in the 100-yard IM in a season-best 53.54 seconds.

Freshman Belal Hamad (Syracuse, N.Y./PSAL at Fowler) recorded 73 individual points. He finished ninth in the 500-yard freestyle in an NE10 season-best 4:49.62 on Friday. On Saturday morning, he placed third in the 200-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 1:44.12, the second-fastest in the NE10 this year. He registered an NE10 season-best time of 46.66 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle to place fourth.

Freshman Justin Byrne (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) tallied 359.85 points in the three-meter diving event to place 10th. He then placed eighth off the one-meter diving board with 410.15 points.

Junior Joseph Malone (Merrick, N.Y./Wellington C. Mepham/SUNY Old Westbury) touched the wall in the 1650-yard freestyle in 16:55.42, the fastest time in the NE10 this year, to place sixth.

Senior Brandon Bardin (Burnt Hills, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) finished 17th in the 100-yard butterfly with a season-best time of 53.11 seconds. He placed 13th in the 100-yard IM in a season-best 57.04 seconds.

Junior Seth Dougherty (Waterford, N.Y./Homeschooled) placed 18th in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:06.18.

Senior Alex Turczyn (Burnt Hills, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) turned in a season-best time of 4:32.66 in the 400-yard IM to place 19th.

Freshman John Harbaugh (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) placed 19th in the one-meter diving event with 163.20 points.

Junior Dmitry Gauntt (Portsmouth, R.I./Bishop Stang) placed 23rd in the 400-yard IM in a season-best 4:49.80. He posted a time of 18:41.04 to place 22nd in the 1650-yard freestyle.

Freshman Jason Badalato (Watertown, N.Y./Carthage) placed 21st in the 100-yard IM in 1:00.08.

Redshirt freshman Ryan McMahon (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) finished 22nd in the 200-yard breaststroke in a season-best 2:20.18.

Freshman Dominic Fratto (Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo) placed 24th in the 100-yard backstroke in a season-best 56.18 seconds.

The team of Fratto, Morris, Bardin and redshirt freshman Logan Bronecki (Hemlock, N.Y./Livonia) placed seventh in the 200-yard medley relay on Friday night in a season-best 1:37.48, the second-fastest in the NE10 this year.

On Saturday morning, Hamad, Morris, Fratto and Turczyn finished seventh in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:27.74, the best time in the NE10 this year.

Turczyn, Hamad, McMahon and junior Sean McCleary (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) closed out Saturday night's competition by placing seventh in the 800-yard freestyle relay in a season-best time of 7:25.84.

Morris, Hamad, Turczyn and Bronecki closed out the meet by placing seventh in the 400-yard freestyle in a season-best 3:14.01, the fastest time in the NE10 this year.

The Dolphins return to the pool on Tuesday, January 11 at 1:00 p.m. by hosting Alfred University.
